Summer

Wheat is a very popular ingredient in a summer seasonal- used exclusively or in conjunction with barley.  It gives the beer a bright crisp flavor that blends beautifully with fruit. Many domestic producers of summer seasonals will flavor their beers with lemon or berries.  Shandy is a popular German summer refreshment. It is made by mixing lemonade and wheat beer. A few American breweries have introduced shandies into their summer line up.
